The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) commissioned this project to help advance data equity and, ultimately, health equity in the United States. We aimed to develop a research agenda that could address methodological issues related to conducting multiracial and multiethnic population research that would lead to improvements across different parts of the data lifecycle. This project is part of the Foundation’s broader investments to advance data equity in health research, complementing other RWJF-funded projects that support communications, advocacy, convening, technical assistance, and research. In the following report, we provide background, project context, methods, and findings that highlight the research priorities that emerged from this work. We conclude with future considerations and identify the limitations of the project.
