Richard E. Besser, MD., President & CEO

Former Acting Director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and ABC News former chief and medical editor, Dr. Richard E. Besser has been at the helm of our Foundation since 2017. Author of hundreds of publications, Dr. Besser is a leading voice on health equity and a passionate advocate for racial justice.
