      3. Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Welcomes May Ng as Chief Investment Officer

Princeton, N.J.—The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced today that it has named May Ng as chief investment officer (CIO). Ng replaces former CIO Brian O’Neil, whose innovative leadership guided the Foundation’s investment strategy for more than 20 years. In this role, Ng will oversee all aspects of management of the endowment portfolio; execute overall investment policy, asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio risk; and work closely with the mission-driven Impact Investments team. She will join the Foundation on April 17, 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome May Ng to the Foundation,” said Richard Besser, MD, president and CEO of the Foundation. “Her expertise in investment strategy and her commitment to our mission is clear. Under her leadership, we look to further our work to reduce health inequities and help build a Culture of Health in America.”

Ng comes to RWJF with 17 years of experience investing for endowments and foundations. Most recently, she served as vice president and chief investment officer at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, where she managed a $3.5 billion diversified investment portfolio. While at the Casey Foundation, which she first joined in 2013 as director of public market investments, she helped to grow its endowment to maximize the resources available to support its mission of ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed.

Prior to joining the Casey Foundation, Ng was a senior investment officer at The George Washington University, where she was a member of a generalist team managing the university’s endowment. Earlier in her career she worked in management consulting and corporate development.

Ng is a graduate of Williams College and Princeton University. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. She currently serves on the investment committees of Williams College, the William Penn Foundation, the France-Merrick Foundation and Georgetown Day School.
