Paul Tarini
Senior Program Officer, Research-Evaluation-Learning
Paul Tarini, senior program officer, focuses on exploration, discovery, learning, and emerging trends that are important to building a Culture of Health, as well as fostering connections between health and healthcare.
Paul joined the Foundation in 1994 as a communications officer. In addition to staffing a number of program teams, he was executive editor for Advances, the Foundation’s weekly newsletter, and editor for a number of annual reports. He joined the program staff in 2009.
Paul came to the Foundation after serving as senior publication information officer in the American Medical Association’s Department of Science News, where he handled media inquiries and outreach related to the AMA’s scientific journals, including JAMA, and organized briefings for the media on various health and medical topics. He also covered business for American Medical News.
Born in Chicago, Paul earned an MA in public affairs journalism from Columbia College in Chicago and a BA in political science from Grinnell College in Iowa. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Naomi, and their sons, Ethan and Gabriel. Paul is a lifelong fan of the mighty Detroit Tigers, and also enjoys cooking, hiking, and kite flying.
