Jason M. Price
Assistant General Counsel
Jason M. Price joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2019. His work focuses on addressing legal matters related to the Foundation's programmatic activities. Jason joined the Foundation as a program associate, bringing his extensive experience in the nonprofit and legal sectors to help identify global programs, policies, and practices that can further strengthen RWJF’s ability in building a national Culture of Health. He believes “there’s beneficial value in looking beyond the confines of our borders to explore whether other nations’ policies and practices could be applicable and scalable to elevate the health and well-being of our most vulnerable and underserved here in the U.S.”
Previously, Jason served as an independent consultant with MMS Education, a national education consulting company that helps nonprofits, corporate foundations, government agencies, and for-profit companies make a positive impact in the education field and achieve measurable, strategic goals. In this role, he explored and assessed policies and programs that address health equity and maternal health issues.
Earlier, he was part of the RWJF National Urban Fellow program, which combined graduate-level training, mentorship, and networking to build leadership skills among people of color and women to prepare them to become change agents. His work supported the Foundation’s Global Ideas for U.S. Solutions and Healthy Communities teams in identifying programs and policies that address pressing health issues.
Jason was also an attorney with Clyburn Pope and Price, LLC, in Aiken, S.C., a legal firm he co-founded. As a general practice lawyer, he worked to best ensure that clients received fair and equitable treatment from private and government agencies. He also served as an assistant public defender with the Second Judicial Circuit in Aiken, S.C.
He earned a BA in International Studies and German from the University of South Carolina and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He also holds an MPA from Baruch College (CUNY), Marxe School of Public and International Affairs.
A South Carolina native, Jason now resides in Philadelphia. In his free time, he enjoys traveling abroad, hot vinyasa yoga, and biking in and around Philadelphia’s parks and neighborhoods.
