Christine Buck, who joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2017, is dedicated to supporting cross-Foundation projects aimed at bridging strategic goals between programmatic functions and equity transformation.
In this role she assists in facilitating equity and culture initiatives; conducting research; working with consultants, grantees, and RWJF staff to advance equity priorities; and helping design, implement, and monitor new programmatic investments. Christine views her work as helping the Foundation achieve its vision of ensuring that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to reach their best health and wellbeing, no matter their race, ethnicity, or class.
Earlier, she held a management position with a private firm whose work specialized in medical exams, wellness programs, corporate screening, background checks, and drug testing.
Christine is a volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention–N.J. Chapter (AFSP). She was introduced to AFSP at a Survivor Day event months after losing her brother to suicide in 2014. Since that time, she has volunteered as social media ambassador and serves on the N.J. Chapter Board. In particular, she has dedicated her time to AFSP’s Healing Conversations, which connects those who have lost a loved one to suicide with trained volunteers who are also survivors of suicide loss.
Christine received her associate degree from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, N.J. and is currently pursuing a BA at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
A native of New Jersey, she and her daughter live in Eatontown, N.J., where she enjoys going to the beach year-round, hiking, and growing fruits and vegetables in her garden. She also holds a blue belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
