Culture of Health Sentinel Community Insights
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Sentinel Communities Surveillance project, which began in 2016, monitors activities related to how a Culture of Health is developing in each of 29 diverse communities around the country. Working with the RAND Corporation, we have developed a set of reports on key topics that may be of value to those working to build a Culture of Health in their own communities.
The Health Narratives report is the most recent of these reports, released in 2022. It focuses on what frames and influences community narratives related to health, well-being, and health equity.
The Health Equity report provides insight into how 11 communities conceptualize health equity and how those perspectives influence strategies and approaches to promote health equity.
The Anchor Institutions report discusses how anchor institutions in eight communities are having an impact on community narrative, investment, and measurement around health and well-being, as well as developing innovative solutions to address health equity.
The Rural and Small Communities report focuses on the unique experiences of these communities in addressing health and well-being issues and communicating a narrative about health.
