As deputy general counsel and chief investment counsel at the Foundation, Edmond Ghisu works with Foundation management and staff on a variety of matters of strategic importance to the Foundation. He has primary legal responsibility for overseeing the investment of the Foundation's investment portfolio and the Foundation’s use of program-related investments to achieve greater impact, and serves as a legal representative for several of the Foundation’s areas of programmatic focus. He also works with RWJF’s Human Resources department on employee benefit and retirement plan matters.
Ed joined RWJF in 2006 after serving as a business and finance attorney for six years with Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll. His practice focused primarily on partnership and joint venture transactions and securities law matters. Prior to his employment with Ballard Spahr, he worked as a commercial litigator for Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, and Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP.
Ed received his JD from Temple University School of Law and his BA in political science from West Chester University.
Born in Philadelphia, Ed resides in Doylestown, Pa., with his wife and children. He enjoys music, art and photography, and cooking.
