In February 2009, tavern owners across Wisconsin received an educational brochure on the benefits of smoke-free air. The mailer, funded in part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, features testimonials by tavern owners whose businesses improved when they banned tobacco from their establishments and offers tools for implementing a statewide smoke-free law.

Many communities in Wisconsin have passed smoke-free ordinances but the state is not yet covered by a comprehensive smoke-free law.
