One of the best things about our jobs at Pioneer is that we get to have conversations with interesting people doing interesting things. As we network with these visionary thinkers, we want to share some of the great stuff we’re learning and hearing with you—to bring value to the work you’re doing. That’s why I’m pleased to introduce What's Next Health: Conversations with Pioneers, a new series here at RWJF that explores the future of health and health care, asks the big questions, and looks to the cutting-edge for solutions.

Each month at What’s Next Health we’re sitting down with people like Sal Khan, who is reimagining education, or Jessica Green, who is pioneering exploration into the role microbiomes play in our invisible health environment—innovators from science and technology to education and ecology. With this series, we aim to bring in new perspectives, challenge our thinking, and stay at the forefront of trends and ideas that could have significant impact on the work we’re all doing, now and in the not-too-distant future.

We invite you to explore What’s Next Health and be inspired with us. You'll find videos with RWJF program officers asking key questions as well as interesting blogs and infographics that bring to life some of the challenging concepts these thinkers discuss. For example, you can explore:

  • Jake Porway, founder of DataKind, discussing the opportunities of big data when it comes to health and health care.
  • danah boyd, who according to Fast Company is one of the most influential women in technology, challenging our conceptions about what it means to be “connected” in today’s highly digitized and networked society.
  • Daniel Kraft, inventor, entrepreneur, flight surgeon and executive director of FutureMed, taking us on a tour of exponential technologies and exploring their potential for accelerating change in health and health care.

Bringing fresh thinking to our work—and yours—is our goal. We want What’s Next Health to be a resource for anyone interested in diving deeper into what we believe are important topics and learning how the work of these innovators has the potential to change health and health care.

So please visit What’s Next Health: Conversations with Pioneers. And if you come away with some inspiring thoughts of your own, join the conversation at #whatsnexthealth. Or send your pioneering idea our way: learn more about Pioneer's strategy and how to submit a proposal to the team.

Check back regularly for updated videos and related insights from the lineup of great innovators we'll be talking with soon.
