Essential Community Providers Dataset

This dataset captures how every U.S. state is including essential community providers in their health care landscape beyond what is published by CMS in its Annual Letter to Issuers.

This dataset is current as of March 2015.

Many states impose additional requirements on issuers regarding the inclusion of ECPs in their networks and they may have their own definition of essential community provider that is different from that used by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The dataset also includes a breakdown of the CMS' non-exhaustive lists of ECPs for 2015 and 2016.
