Online Journal Issue Looks at How Social, Cultural and Political-Economic Issues Affect U.S. Health Care
Staff at the American Sociological Association published a special issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Health & Social Behavior entitled "Health and Health Care in the U.S.: Origins and Dynamics."
The 193-page special edition, published in December 2004, sought to address how American social, cultural and political-economic issues affect U.S. health and health care. Among the topics covered in the issue are:
- The lack of a national health insurance system.
- The rise and fall of managed care.
- The long-term care field.
