Data from Best-Practices Nursing Program Now in Electronic Database
In 2003, staff at the American Nurses Credentialing Center developed a database to facilitate the analysis of data collected through its Magnet Recognition™ accreditation program.
Magnet Recognition is accorded to hospitals and other facilities that meet the highest standards of nursing practice, as identified by the American Nursing Association.
Key Results
Under the grant, the American Nurses Credentialing Center:
Built a Web-based data collection system to better assess and understand the impact of the Magnet Recognition program.
Gathered data on key characteristics of hospitals and facilities granted Magnet Recognition, as well as data on hospitals that were rejected.
On the Web-based interface, created an option for Magnet program applicants to apply online.
