Project Shares Data Archives of RWJF-Supported Research

Collecting, archiving and publicly sharing data for RWJF's Health and Medical Care Archive, 1985-2005

Since March 1985, staff of the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, Ann Arbor, Mich., has prepared, archived, and disseminated data collections created through grantmaking by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).

RWJF staff, with assistance from the ICPSR, determines which data sets to process and make public.

ICPSR, a partnership of over 350 colleges, universities, and research institutions, advertises available data sets to their members through traditional printed publications and a website.

Additionally, ICPSR provides technical assistance to the grantees as they prepared their data for transmission to ICPSR.

RWJF expects that these archives both increase the quality of foundation-supported data collections and lead to increased dissemination and analysis of its data sets.
