The BMJ Publishing Group produced three special journal issues devoted to information on chronic disease management and mailed them to subscribers and a select list of health care professionals.
These issues contained a number of articles presenting results of funded health care quality-improvement projects funded by RWJF.
BMJ (formerly the British Medical Journal) published two special issues covering the theme of chronic disease.

- Vol. 325, issue 7370, October 26, 2002.
The third special issue covering chronic disease was in WJM (the Western Journal of Medicine, now defunct), vol. 175, no. 5, November 2001 issue.
