2001 Campaign Educates the Public about Mental Illness and Associated Addictions
The American Association for World Health developed materials, collaborations and educational programs as part of a yearlong World Health Day campaign launched on April 6, 2001.
Results
- The association produced a 48-page resource booklet, "World Health Day 2001: Open Minds...Open Doors—Prevent and Treat Mental Illness and Substance Abuse!"
- The association developed new partnerships for the campaign with the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Institute of Mental Health.
- The American Association for World Health and the Pan American Health Organization convened a conference on World Health Day, April 6, 2001, in Washington, to launch the campaign.
