Since 1997, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) has provided an annual volume called To Improve Health and Health Care: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Anthology.
The purpose of the Anthology is to gather and present in a single place what RWJF has funded and what it has learned from its considerable body of work since 1972, when it became a national philanthropy.
Targeted for a broad audience of health care policymakers, providers, journalists, and the public, each volume examines a range of RWJF-funded efforts and groups of initiatives focused on one topic.
Volumes have been published each year since 1997 as part of the Jossey-Bass Health Series, the mission of which is to develop publications that support and advise health professionals in a time of organizational change.
The anthology takes a "cross-cutting" approach to portraying how RWJF is addressing issues related to a specific problem, pulling together insights about a particular issue from a variety of efforts.
