Fans of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) on Facebook have a new way to stay up-to-date with the Human Capital portfolio. The RWJF Facebook page now features a tab that highlights the opportunities for career and leadership development offered by the portfolio, and the successes of its scholars, fellows and leaders.
The Foundation's Human Capital portfolio invests in preparing health professionals for leadership; seeking solutions to workforce challenges; training scholars to conduct research in health care and health policy; enhancing the skills and careers of frontline health workers; and encouraging youth to pursue health careers.
The new "Fellowships & More" Facebook tab provides information about 17 Human Capital programs, as well as links to information on the RWJF Scholars, Fellows & Leadership web site, RWJFLeaders.org.
Visitors to the tab can access a program-finder tool on RWJFLeaders.org that allows users to search Human Capital programs by professional discipline. Potential program applicants can see a list of upcoming calls for applications and nomination deadlines.
The new tab also features photos and descriptions of some of the grantees of the Human Capital programs and how their innovations and hard work are addressing the nation's challenges in health and health care.
Video updates will keep Facebook fans informed of the work of the Human Capital portfolio.
"We're delighted to be able to share our work with the millions of people who use Facebook," said David Krol, MD, MPH, FAAP, RWJF Human Capital portfolio team director and senior program officer. "The new Facebook tab is an interactive way to let people discover and stay up-to-date with the Human Capital portfolio and our diverse and groundbreaking work."
