According to Nursing Leadership from Bedside to Boardroom, opinion leaders believe that nurses could take on more leadership in improving health status and delivering health care services by making their voices heard (15%); having higher expectations and accountability (12%); improving the perception of nursing (10%); having improved hospital management and administration (7%); having improved access to continuing education or pursuing advanced degrees (5%); having better pay, benefits and incentives (5%); and improving nurses' relationships with physicians (5%).
