Food Advertisements on Spanish-Language Television

Evidence suggests that exposure to advertising for unhealthy foods is contributing to the childhood obesity epidemic. In “Comida en Venta: After-School Advertising on Spanish-Language Television in the United States,” researchers analyzed the content of all the commercials aired during the after-school hours on two U.S. Spanish-language television stations. They found that, among the food and drink advertisements, fast food and drinks were the most commonly advertised items.
