Health & Society Scholars

This program received support from the Foundation between 2001 and 2017.

An RWJF national program aimed at building the field of population health.

RWJF Health & Society Scholars helped build the nation’s capacity for research, leadership and policy change to address the multiple determinants of health.

Progress in the field of population health depends upon collaboration across disciplines and sectors.

Health & Society Scholars focused on investigating connections among the biological, behavioral, environmental, economic, and social determinants of health, and developing policies to improve health and reduce health disparities.

From 2001 to 2017, the program trained scholars around the country to investigate connections and develop and disseminate knowledge, interventions, and policies that address the multiple factors that influence health, and help to improve health for everyone.
