RWJF Senior Program Officer Sue Hassmiller is leading an American Red Cross delegation of corporate donors to Indonesia to see the aftereffects of the disaster and to observe what the Red Cross is doing to help. She's blogging the trip for Forbes.com, and says: "I know that all disasters are, well, disasters to those who are affected. But there are some events that grab our collective attention and draw in enormous resources. In the cases of Katrina, 9/11 and the 2004 tsunami, finding a way to help became a global initiative."

"As I make my last-minute preparations, I expect that I will observe much progress due to the devoted attention, resources and hard work that has gone into the recovery. But I also know that there may be a long way to go to assist those whose lives were affected by the tsunami."
