Jeffrey P. Koplan, MD, MPH, was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in January 2010.
Koplan is vice president for global health at Emory University. Previously, Koplan was vice president for academic health affairs in Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center. He is the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Koplan is a master of the American College of Physicians and a member of the National Academy of Medicine. He has served on many advisory groups and consultancies in the United States and overseas. He has written more than 240 scientific papers. He is a trustee of the China Medical Board and the Kaiser Health Foundation of Georgia. He is a former trustee of Yale University.
Koplan is a graduate of Yale College, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Harvard School of Public Health.
