Ann P. Pomphrey

Program Associate

Ann Pomphrey, who joined the Foundation in 1988, develops programs that support vulnerable people by addressing their health within the context of social factors, such as housing, education, and poverty. Committed to “making a difference that counts in the lives of people,” she serves as program officer for the Foundation-funded Faith in Action program, which brings together people of many faiths to provide volunteer caregiving to people of all ages with chronic health conditions. She also has managed several RWJF-supported efforts to build coalitions and partnerships aimed at treating and preventing addiction and creating healthier communities.

Previously, Pomphrey was an RWJF program assistant in the Research and Evaluation Unit. Before joining the Foundation, she was program coordinator for the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation’s Master Teacher Program, a series for high school science and math teachers hosted by more than 40 universities in the United States.

Pomphrey holds a B.A. in French and history from the University of London.

Born in England, she resides in Lawrenceville, N.J. with her husband, Neil, a physicist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading fiction, going to movies and volunteering for a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to the homebound elderly and disabled.
