THE PROJECT

The New York Road Runners Foundation in New York City establishes running programs for children in underserved communities, primarily in New York City.

Mighty Milers and Young Runners are in-school and after-school programs that include fitness and nutrition instruction, as well as activities to promote character and academic development.

With this grant, project staff developed startup kits, along with a promotional CD about the programs, to help teachers introduce Mighty Milers and Young Runners into their schools. Project staff subcontracted production of the kits to Kaeser and Wilson Design, a marketing communications firm in New York City.
