  • Nurses Transforming Care

Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB), a nurse-led quality improvement program, provides an evidence-based roadmap for how hospitals can provide safer, more reliable inpatient care that is both affordable and achievable. In this Foreword to a special supplement to the American Journal of Nursing, Risa Lavizzo-Mourey and Donald M. Berwick, president-CEOs of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), respectively, review the success of the program created by their organizations and call on national health care leaders and policy-makers to heed the insights of TCAB to leverage the skill and energy of nurses to improve patient care.
