  • Grant Results Report

In 1999, staff at Greer, Margolis, Mitchell, Burns & Associates (GMMB&A), a Washington strategic communications firm, explored and tested messages designed to influence opinion leaders on the issue of America's uninsured.

Key Findings
The researchers found that opinion leaders:

  • Want the issue of the insured to be addressed and are particularly concerned about working Americans who are uninsured.
  • Seek more information in order to grapple with possible solutions.
  • Know that the government must be involved in developing an effective solution.

Funding
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) supported this project through a grant of $100,240.
