  • Grant Results Report

This program contract provided an independent review and assessment of the validity and reliability of a statistical model designed to measure medical expenditures attributable to cigarette smoking developed under the earlier grant under this program to Leonard Miller, Ph.D. (see Grant Results on ID# 024844).

The project was part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Tobacco Policy Research and Evaluation Program national program.

Key Findings

  • The review found that although there were several opportunities for refinement and simplification, the model studied is the best resource available to understand the quantitative impact of cigarette smoking on medical expenditures.

Funding
RWJF supported this project through a grant of $8,000.
