United Seniors Health Cooperative established the Cooperative Care Network (CCN), a computerized service credit bank in the greater Washington area, to increase the availability of services for the elderly and the disabled living in their homes.
Volunteers were called upon to perform a variety of helpful services, including grocery shopping, telephone reassurance, and friendly visits. In turn, the volunteers received redeemable credit for services that they themselves might need later.
Key Results
Funding
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) supported the project with a $410,000 grant from May 1992 to December 1995.

Grant Results Reports
RWJF produces Grant Results reports on its funded initiatives. External writers and editors read the entire grant to prepare each report, which is then reviewed by RWJF staff and by the director of the initiative. Any reviewer in the chain may ask for changes in the report to improve clarity or accuracy.
