Community-acquired MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) has been spreading throughout communities in the United States. Now, it is also spreading in the nation's hospitals, where the burden of hospital-acquired MRSA is already substantial. This means that it is even more important for hospitals to adopt infection control measures appropriate to local conditions.
