Applying methods from commercial aviation to improve safety, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness of patient care

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to test an intervention used in commercial aviation that has dramatically improved safety and adapt it for use in health care to improve hospital safety. A stakeholder group comprising representatives from government and the health care industry will select one hazard and test the feasibility of substantially reducing it in hospitals across the country.
