The Workers' Compensation Health Initiative supported demonstration and evaluation projects that tested new models to contain costs and to improve the quality of health care received through workers' compensation programs. The program provided funding to state government agencies, employers, labor unions, insurers, health care providers and researchers who sought to launch and assess promising changes in the way medical care is delivered through workers' compensation programs.
