Evaluation
State and local coalitions are a central feature of the Covering Kids & Families® (CKF) initiative, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Given this central role of coalitions, the evaluation team developed a coalition member survey instrument that it administered in the spring of 2003.

From 1993 to 2001, George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, developed and implemented Community Health in Focus, a program designed to use the convening role of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to stimulate action on health care issues identified by local communities.

The George Washington University Center for Health Services Research and Policy studied the effects of the health-related provisions of the Welfare Reform Act of 1996 and their implications for access to Medicaid and for safety net providers.

The Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health studied Elder Health, a for-profit managed-care provider in Baltimore, Md., that serves individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid (i.e., dually eligible).
