This study investigated the behavioral patterns of young people three and a half years after they had been detained at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center (CCJDC) in Chicago. Researchers employed a functional impairment rating that assessed eight behavioral domains.

Researchers from Northwestern University Medical School interviewed 1,829 youth detained at the juvenile facility in Cook County, Ill., as part of a longitudinal study of the health issues and outcomes of youth in juvenile detention.
