A study of associations between HIV-positive people’s awareness of New Jersey’s HIV exposure law and their HIV-related attitudes, beliefs and seropositive disclosure behaviors found that awareness of the law had little effect on the disclosure behavior of HIV-positive individuals.

Participation in a primary care buprenorphine/naloxone treatment program was associated with decreased HIV-risk behaviors. Although general counseling was provided in the program, counseling aimed specifically at HIV risk behaviors would probably be of benefit in further reducing such behaviors.
