Establishing Family-Based HIV Treatment Programs in Sub-Saharan Africa and Thailand

Beginning in 2002, the MTCT-Plus Initiative established family-based HIV care and treatment programs in sub-Saharan Africa and Thailand, linking HIV care and treatment of mothers to existing programs that prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

During 1997 and 1998, researchers at the Sunnybrook Foundation examined the charges for 16 well-defined hospital services in different parts of the United States in order to test the hypothesis that there are wide price differences for the same hospital services.
