Evaluation Identifies Promising Practices and Lessons Learned from a Collaborative in Health Care Workforce Development

Bay Area Workforce Funding Collaborative invested $3.4 million in a first round of grants for workforce programs that were expected to train and advance nearly 700 low-income and low-wage, entry-level and incumbent workers.

Special Needs: Rural California Pediatric Emergency Care

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Research and Education Institute implemented model systems of emergency medical services for children in rural and remote communities in northern California and developed curricular and training materials to support the systems.

Bay Area Health Ministries completed a video on the parish nurse and health ministry concepts - i.e., the addition of nurses to a traditional ministry staff in order to provide community nursing services to congregations and other clients.

Staff at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and its Michigan-based subcontractor, TSI Consulting Partners, developed a program to train state health officials in strategic effectiveness skills.
