A Partnership of Two NYC Hospitals Trained Providers to Offer End-of-Life Care for Minority Populations in Harlem

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and North General Hospital trained physicians to provide culturally sensitive palliative and hospice care to underserved, minority populations and to provide such care to residents of Harlem and other communities.

Babies Can't Wait

Starting in March 2001, New York State's Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children developed and implemented a pilot training project in the Bronx family court system called "Babies Can't Wait."

Dental Exams During Pediatric Visits Take a Bite Out of Oral Health Problems

From 2002 to 2004, staff at the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved developed, delivered and evaluated a training program to prevent dental disease in children ages 0 to 3.

New York City-Based Hispanic Clergy Complete Mental Health Training Program to Better Serve Their Congregations

The Blanton-Peale Institute refined, strengthened and expanded its training program in mental health counseling for Hispanic pastors serving inner city congregations that it had developed with prior funding from RWJF.
