Graphic Warning Labels in Cigarette Advertisements

This article examines recall and viewing patterns among text-only versus larger, more visible graphic warning labels in cigarette advertisements.
Although tobacco use has decreased, it is the leading cause of death in the United States. Implementing a combination of policy changes including clean indoor air laws, higher per-pack taxes, and cessation efforts are proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
