From 1996 to 1999, staff at Harvard Medical School established the Managed Care Industry Center at Harvard University.
Although tobacco use has decreased, it is the leading cause of death in the United States. Implementing a combination of policy changes including clean indoor air laws, higher per-pack taxes, and cessation efforts are proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
