The Urban Health Initiative, a major effort of the Foundation, aims to improve the health and safety of children living in five medium-size and large cities.
Although tobacco use has decreased, it is the leading cause of death in the United States. Implementing a combination of policy changes including clean indoor air laws, higher per-pack taxes, and cessation efforts are proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
