In the 1980s Rhys B. Jones became concerned about the increasing use of spit tobacco - and the ads that employed major league baseball players to promote spit-tobacco products.
Although tobacco use has decreased, it is the leading cause of death in the United States. Implementing a combination of policy changes including clean indoor air laws, higher per-pack taxes, and cessation efforts are proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
