Transforming Care at the Bedside (Phase 2)

The evaluation of Transformaing Care at the Bedside (TCAB) sought to test the impact of rapid-cycle quality of care improvement efforts championed and carried out by nurses in clinical care settings. TCAB worked to empower front-line nurses and other staff to develop, test and implement changes to improve care on hospital medical/surgical units, believing improvements in the nurse work environment would positively affect the quality of patient care.

The report describes various program and program elements, continuous quality improvement strategy, purpose and design of the evaluation, methodology, findings, limitations, tools, and lessons learned.
