Jim Marks, MD, MPH, senior vice president and director of the Health Group of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, helped introduce a new report from Trust for America’s Health (TFAH), Healthier Americans for a Healthier Economy, in Washington, D.C., on November 1, 2011. The remarks were delivered as part of a Congressional briefing for House, Senate and Committee staff as well as health and health care stakeholder groups.
The RWJF-supported report features six case studies focused on the relationship between health and economic development and examines how health affects the ability of states, cities and towns to attract and retain employers, and how workplace and community wellness programs help improve productivity and reduce health spending.
