Active Kids Reach Their Peak

Why Physical Activity Matters and How You Can Make a Difference

Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, MBA, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, provided keynote remarks to set up the physical activity breakout sessions at the Partnership for a Healthier America’s inaugural summit, Building a Healthier Future, on November 29, 2011.

Lavizzo-Mourey addressed approximately 700 national leaders from the corporate, non-profit and public sectors in Washington, D.C., getting them up and moving with a Jammin’ Minute exercise break, stressing the importance of physical activity for kids (and adults), and challenging participants to come up with new ideas for helping kids to become more physically active.
