Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., M.B.A., president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, addressed the National Association of Black Journalists’ (NABJ) third annual Media Institute on Health, Health Policy and Health Disparities on March 24, 2011.
This is the only conference of its kind focusing exclusively on health disparities in communities of color. Lavizzo-Mourey’s remarks highlighted the numerous Robert Wood Johnson Foundation programs that explore racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care, the Foundation’s Multicultural Newsroom, and the key role journalists of color play in effectively reporting on health disparities in communities of color and the impact of health care reform and health policy on underserved communities.
