In May 2009, researchers at the Center for Children and Families at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute produced a report providing a blueprint for what children and families need from health reform. They disseminated it to federal policy-makers and other stakeholders. They also informed policy-makers about it through memos, conversations and meetings.
Center researchers did research and policy analysis from January 2009 to January 2010 on the health care needs of children and families and ways to improve health coverage and services. They also used existing data sources and interviews with representatives of state child health policy groups and national organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, Community Catalyst and National Academy of State Health Policy in writing the report.
