Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., M.B.A., president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, delivered a speech to the 2010 Keenan Fellows, in Washington, D.C. on September 28, 2010. The Keenan Fellows were a group of individuals selected to participate in the inaugural Terrance Keenan Institute for Emerging Leaders in Health Philanthropy.
The institute, founded by Grantmakers In Health (GIH) with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), was created to nurture and support the next generation of philanthropic leaders in building relationships and connecting with established figures in the field. Terrance Keenan (1924-2009) had a profound impact on the field of health philanthropy, as well as on generations of individuals who have been inspired by his wisdom and values.
