2010 Open Forum

A National Conference of Leaders in Public Health Quality Improvement

The 2010 Open Forum: A National Conference of Leaders in Public Health Quality Improvement, was held on September 15-17 in Washington, D.C. The event was convened by the Multi-State Learning Collaborative (MLC), a project managed by the National Network of Public Health Institutes with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Over 200 public health professionals gathered to reflect on five years of MLC progress in advancing quality improvement and accreditation in public health.

RWJF President and CEO Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, M.D., M.B.A., kicked off the conference with an energetic call to action for those assembled, encouraging them to build “a new future for public health.”

Attendees took part in numerous sessions over the next several days to share important lessons on public health improvement and chart a course for even stronger public health departments as the new accreditation system begins in earnest.
