James S. Marks, M.D., M.P.H., senior vice president and director of the Foundation’s Health Group, blogged on The Huffington Post, calling for bold and swift action to address the nation’s childhood obesity epidemic.

His post follows the June 29 release of F as in Fat 2010, How the Obesity Crisis Threatens America’s Future, by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Trust for America’s Health. The seventh annual edition of this report found that adult obesity rates rose in 28 states over the past year, declining only in the District of Columbia, and that rates are higher among Blacks and Latinos than among Whites.
